IBM Rackmount Rails

Tekmart Africa offers a wide variety of IBM rack rail kits for mounting various types of equipment including servers, storage arrays, KMM/KVM consoles, routers, and switches.

In order to make sure you select the correct rail kit for your device, you will need the model number of your device / system and the type of rack you have.

To avoid rail failure and potential danger to yourself and to the unit, ensure that you have the correct rails and fittings for your rack. If your rack has square support flange holes or screw-thread support flange holes, ensure that the rails and fittings match the support flange holes that are used on your rack.

Each rail comes with two medium bracket pins in the front bracket and two medium bracket pins in the rear bracket. The medium bracket pins are for installation in a 19-inch IBM® rack cabinet. If you are installing the enclosure in a non-IBM rack cabinet, you might need to replace the set of medium bracket pins on the front and rear of the rail with either the small or large bracket pins that are included in the rail kit.

Do not install mismatched hardware by using washers or spacers.
